OK, the really last post about Genghis Khan

Went to the book club meeting to discuss this month’s selection–Genghis Khan and the Making of the Modern World by Jack Weatherford.

If you’ve been following my posts about the book,  you know I’ve been a little skeptical.  I was curious to find out the members’ own reactions.

Everybody liked it!!  Most everybody read it!!  One member had found a
book review ( a real one) that called it “dazzling”.

Dazzling?  Dazzling??  Who wrote that review—Mrs. Weatherford?

Still, I have to admit we had a good discussion over the book.  Fun.

Next month: The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde.  I’ll save you a
seat . . .

I’m glad you finally finished the book!

    • Thanks, Caty.

The cryptogram today (at lunch time solving) was a good one:

“No man ever steps in the same river twice,

for it’s not the same river and he’s not the same man.”

Betsey; Your blogs on Genghis Khan were wonderful. I really enjoyed all of them. They were funny and thoughtful. I wish you could have read them to our reading group on Tues. night. Your humor in these blogs is terrific – so tongue- in-cheek. It reminds me of the way Will Cuppy treated historical celebrities in his “The Decline of Almost Everybody” Not a bad person to keep company with. This book is my bedtime book. I read one chapter before dozing off every night and this fast pace I might be finished by Xmas.

I spoke to you about retrieving my lost comment on your blogs. I tried everything to get access to it but it has gone to the lost and never found world of Microsoft! Keep blogging, Catherine
