On a beautiful day like today, I decided to make a trip to our local
flea market. Maybe you’d enjoy going with me through a picture
tour. These few photos don’t do justice to the large market, but
you can still get the idea. What do you like to look for?
From hats to cats!
Or whatever–
And this is what I bought—-buttons!
Two of the buttons pop apart when you press the shank . . .
I’m lucky to have a nearby market–open Wednesdays, Saturdays,
and Sundays. It’s huge—with a pavilion, lots of indoor shops, even
an outdoor band in the summertime. Hope you enjoyed the tour.
I love the little “ruler” button! Also the one with the math problem. I can’t quite make out what the numbers are… can you tell us?
I like the little ruler button, too! I have some ribbon that has “ruler” marks, too.
The “math” problem button is actually an Oriental language button. It does look like a blackboard. The neat thing about
these two “math” buttons is that they have a shank for sewing to the fabric, and when you press the shank, the top of the
button pops out—-see photos that I’ve added to my post . . .
What would be the purpose of that “popping out” contraption? I ask as a non-sewer but an occasional wearer of buttons….
I’m not sure—-but it is an unusual feature—and button collectors like unusual features!
