London Calling

London mansionsHere I am in London—sunny London!  Weather is bright and beautiful.
Our daughter met me at Heathrow and we zoomed by train to Paddington
Station.  Then I bought a weekly pass for the tube and we traveled from
Paddington to Maida Vale stop.  Yes, I saw the bronze Paddington Bear
sculpture at the station . . .

The flat is about two blocks from the tube stop—very convenient.  And I
must say that it was a scenic walk—even without visiting a single “official”
garden yet, I snapped these photos for you of the small courtyard gardens
along the streets.  So English–

The aucuba!!  What a surprise to see it!  Other Half and I struggled to raise
two of these shrubs at our woodland garden in Connecticut.  This one is a
beauty!

All these little gems on the walk home from the tube!
And then, when we got to the flat, dear daughter had some sweet smelling
stocks on a window sill . . .
