We’re in St. Louis! part two – Yellowstone Café

Yellowstone Cafe St. Louis MO

The first thing we did on Wednesday morning was . . .look for buttons!
I had been invited to visit a “button lady” and we found her pleasant
neighborhood and I found some great buttons.  (more on this in another
post)

And then, almost lunchtime, we went to one of our very, very
favorite restaurant haunts from the old days–the
Yellowstone Café in the Town and Country area of St. Louis.  The whole
place is decorated with fishing paraphenalia–taking me back to my old
Adirondack Mountain days in upstate New York.  Not that I was a
great fisherman mind you, but the whole atmosphere.

Take off your sunglasses to see the wall decor–I didn’t have the camera
set on the right little doohickey when I took them.  Hope you can sort
of see what the place might be like.  And another “mind you”–we were
there BEFORE noon and the place was already packed!!

OK, so where can you order walleye?  RIGHT HERE!!  And that’s what I had—lovely,
lovely, lovely just as I remembered—and O’Half had a grilled grouper sandwich.  We
were sensible and had  cole slaw for sides, very clean cut, and all served by cheery,
friendly waitstaff.  Doesn’t get much better.  *****Five stars for this old memory
brought up-to-date.
