St. Louis is a wonderful city! It has a symphony orchestra, the MUNY
theater, the Fox theater, the Rams, the Cardinals, a zoo, science museum,
and the beautiful art museum. The museum is part of Forest Park where
you could spend several days visiting the different sites, like the Jewel Box
garden center or the Botannical Gardens with lovely Japanese gardens, etc.
But we wanted to go to the art museum and will share a few beauties with
you. Select one to hang on your own wall . . .(click photo to enlarge)
Which did you choose? I’m choosing the Vuillard.
After our museum tour, we went to another great part of Forest Park—–the
Boathouse Cafe and Restaurant. It’s situated on a little lake and you can rent
paddle boats . . .we decided to just enjoy a seat under an umbrella by the lake
and have a glass of wine. Perfect afternoon.
Wow — looks wonderful! Now I am thinking about stopping by St. Louis on a future trip….
Can I have the Factories at Clichy please?
Yes, you may, and a very fine choice indeed. The placard near the painting
said that van Gogh used tiny brushstrokes in the painting, indicating that he
was aware of the new movement of pointillism favored by Seurat.
I’ll take van Gogh’s Stairway at Auvers
OK—nice choice. Well, folks, both van
Goghs are gone—better hurry with your
selection–let me know soon.
I wanted the Vuillard!
I’ll invite you over to see it sometimes . . .
