The Garden Conservancy Bucks County PA tour–part II

We’re back!  and this time visiting a garden touted as
being open to the public only one time before!!  I pointed
out to my companion that MY garden has NEVER been
shown to the public!  Ho-ho-ho.  Want to see this one?

I’m going to try to give an overview and then let you meander
among the photos, reading their captions.  Since I can’t seem
to make my text line up with photos very well anyway, let’s
try it this way for once.

So, we stroll through the gates, and there is a large beautiful
stone house in view at the end of a long drive.  It was a hot
day and I was carrying an umbrella—and I opened it up as
we approached the house.  Lo! and behold! a peacock
stepped forward—–and I think he thought I was a soulmate–
because of my open umbrella.  He preened and strutted.

I was able to get some pretty close shots of him—maybe more
information that you’re looking for with a peacock, but this
was too good an opportunity to pass up.  Who knows when
I’ll be this close to a peacock again?

The grounds were vast and beautiful.  There’s a swan pond
with spraying fountain, a lush and blooming partere garden
with a gazebo.  And inside the gazebo, where we sat for a
few minutes in a most welcome breeze, there is a fancy
chandelier———–zoom in to see a bird’s nest!  You know
birds will choose the best places, the best addresses.

A double reflecting pool has a water feature to keep it moving–
and it can be seen from the “big house”–perhaps by the maid
who is doing the dishes!   Just like at your house, right?

All the visitors (except me) were agog to find out the name of
a pink blooming tree.  The caption on the photo will tell you
what it is.

And, believe it or not, amongst a double row of trees making
a shady area—is a bocce court!  Beat that!  Ready?  Here we go.
