Well, we had another nine inches of snow this week–will
show you a picture . . .
we’ve had snow on the ground this year since December—and
I think it’s been pretty:
but it’s getting a little tiresome.
Oh! the moose?
Well, the other afternoon I was watching O’Half and Woody
go down the driveway to collect the trash can (trash people hadn’t
come because of the storm) and while I was idly gazing
at the snow in the front yard, my eye caught something nearby.
Can you see it?
Do you see anything strange about that tree right there in front
of the house?
*NOW* do you see anything? Yes!! It’s a moose! Can you see it?
Can you believe it? Isn’t it great?
It reminds me a little of the poem by
Elizabeth Bishop called “The Moose”. (wonderful)
Or maybe it’s Honk the Moose–a children’s book.
I have a good story about that book and someday I’ll
tell you about it.
Go look into your trees —take your camera. You
never know what you might find . . .bye for now.
That totally is a moose — with the long face and all! What a find!
Hi Booksilver! Isn’t he grand?
Cool! Love the antlers.
Hi Scott—isn’t it wild? I love him.
Can’t wait to see him sprout some little leaves on his antlers!
What a find. Good eye (as we say in birding)!
Good point, Buttondeb—ha!
That’s fantastic! And you’ve never noticed him until now. He’s good at hiding. Be sure to take a photo when he gets leaves 🙂
yes–that will be a riot–
