Book Review: Laidlaw by William McIlvanney

Written in 1977, this crime novel takes you lickety-split to Glasgow where you’ll spend about three nights with Detective Inspector Jack Laidlaw and his naive assistant, Harkness, as they hunt down the murderer of a young girl in the city.
