I’m lucky to live near Doylestown PA and when I’m in the
mood, I can go browsing for books. Today’s post will feature
TWO used bookshops, side by side, with a free parking
lot right in back–nice.
I bought Nicholas Nickleby recently at the Bucks County
Bookshop, along with several others over the years. This
shop specializes in the earlier, out of print books and has
nice first editions, too.
The shop next door, Central Books, is also a good shop for
browsing . . .and tends to have more modern books, best sellers,
book club types of books. New arrivals are always featured
and it’s a busy shop with a large children’s area, and a mystery
book room . . .
The day I visited was a rainy one, so there were some extra
boxes full of books lying about that would have been on shelves
outside on the porch on a sunnier day . . .
And from these two shops, I bought:
Nora by Brenda Maddox; Fadeaway Girl by
Martha Grimes; and The Bostonians by Henry James.
Good start for a summer reading list!!
