Another beautiful day was spent gardening! In someone’s else’s
garden!! Although mine is crying, sobbing, choking, drowned in
weeds, off I went with a friend to walk through some of Bucks
County’s prettiest and most original gardens. I took so many
pictures that I’m going to have to divide my reporting into three
posts. Here is garden number one:
Remember –you’re in Bucks County Pennsylvania—and we’ve
got wonderful old barns. After walking down a long driveway, you
come to this great old barn–
And, with one more glance back at the barn:
We head down a charming path, headed by an
old hitching post, to the house and gardens.
The house was built in 1812. O’Half and I and our two children lived in an old
PA house similar to this for a couple
of years. Its history made it seem
so solid and safe.
And, swinging around, we take a breath in to exclaim about
the garden!
We’ll not talk a minute while we look at the flowers!
And then a water garden in a sunken tub with a water
feature and a floating water lily blossom—lotus?–
no, water lily.

even the birds like living at this garden–zoom in to see little thatch of twigs sticking out—hear the tweets? ©booksandbuttons
And nicest touch of all in this garden is a long pergola with a door to a secret garden at the end? Thanks for walking with us . . .
Oh, what a lovely garden! And that barn! Fantastic!
yes, that barn is pure Pennsylvania
